Gradara is a well-preserved hamlet, whose castle was the location of the dramatic love story between Paolo and Francesca, famously recounted by the poet Dante. From here, you can look out for the San Bartolo mountain, a headland overlooking the sea which separates the coast of Cattolica and Gabicce from the city of Pesaro. The mountain is a natural reserve and is a popular destination for cyclists who ride on its slopes.
